My name is Crystal and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have a Master's of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus on primary care and women's health. Working for 17 years in labor and delivery, postpartum and newborn nursery has allowed me to gain a tremendous amount of education and expertise that is necessary to provide mothers and their newborns with the tools needed to get off to a great start on their breastfeeding journey! Although I was a nurse, breastfeeding my own children did not come without challenges. Dealing with preterm deliveries, slow weight gain and jaundice were enough to make me want to throw in the towel. My prior experience and knowledge with breastfeeding did not make the journey any easier so I can only imagine what most new mothers feel when faced with challenges. These challenges along with my love and passion for the birthing experience pushed me to want to learn more about breastfeeding and working through stumbling blocks to help others be successful. Sharing my education and knowledge with new mothers that allow them to achieve their breastfeeding goals is the most rewarding feeling!
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and four children, hanging out with close friends and family, and party planning.
